I am on a Cupcake Quest and have been since the summer of 2010.

My interest began with my own personal challenge to "bake" in an indulgent neighborhood game of "So You Think You Can... Bake" (a Cupcake Wars inspired yummy-creative outlet).

Cake IS my favorite dessert... especially cupcakes. Small enough to eat by yourself, but big enough to satisfy a craving for something sweet! Although I love, love cooking and am quite the iron chef ( Do you hear that sound? Ah, that's me tooting my own horn :-), when I started my Quest I just couldn't BAKE - even from a box mix. This blog captures my adventures in exploring the world of the cupcake and the bakeries that  bake them AND my own cuppycakes (as I adoringly call them).

‎The following posts chronical my Cuppycaking. I have learned a lot from eating the creations of others (as posted in the section to the right called Visited Bakeries) and creating my own cupcakes. Some hits and some misses. I have tried my batters with 2 eggs, 3, 4 - tried soda vs. baking powder - tried folded egg whites vs. one egg added at at time - tried savory and sweet - tried butter vs. oil - tried thinner vs. thicker batters - tried milk, buttermilk, sour cream, mayo, evap. milk - you name it... I've TRIED it.


I have appreciated many bakers who have shared their story and cakes with me AND all who have encouraged/supported me in my personal baking journey (God bless my family/friends who have been willing tasters along the way :-)

BTW, Life is like a cupcake... it's beautiful and pretty sweet.
Devour your day, enjoying every nibble coming your way... and be ready to enjoy the little hidden surprises held within situations.

A note about comments I make: of NOOO, Yum-ISH and YUMMILICIOUS for each post:

• NOOO is like an F or D... if it's someone else's you'll try and hide it in your napkin
• Yum-ISH is average... a cupcake that if "you're buying" I'll eat some of it to satisfy a sweet-tooth, but  not really worth all the fat grams and calories or money
• YUMMILICIOUS is an A... worth every gram of fat and all the calories!!!!!!
